The bucket wheel stacker-reclaimer (BWSR) machine is ideal for quickly handling and moving large quantities of bulk material such as ore, coal and other materials.

We developed the detailed engineering activities with 3D and 2D modeling and executive design.

The complexity and size of each of the three machines made it necessary to divide them into macro components, in any case with exceptional dimensions, suitable for transport from our Brindisi workshop to Taranto site.

The manufacturing phase developed into the preparation of the semi-finished products: metal sheets and profile cutting, surface preparation, assembly and welding of the individual parts, mechanical machining of the connection surfaces of the components, done with our portable lathe with 6m diameter, non-destructive tests on welded joints, dimensional and geometric tests in accordance with project tolerances.

Subsequently, each component has been painted as per dedicated customer’s specifications, and packaged for shipment to the construction site.

The on-site assembly has been executed with ancillary activities such as the non-destructive tests and the restoration of the paint of the on-site welding areas.

The final phase was characterized by the functioning and commissioning tests for each of the 3 machines.

These ECO-Hoppers have been designed to have a capacity of 130 m3.

Once the material is thrown into the hopper, it falls onto a conveyor belt, with adjustable speed, and is dropped into a duct that will feed 2 further smaller ducts.

Then the material will be unloaded onto the plant belts or onto trucks.

The ECO-Hoppers are equipped with filters, necessary for the abatement of dust.
Furthermore,we developed a control panel which is able to manage the whole machine and let the operator adjust almost any component of it.

Once the assembly of the whole unit is completed, it is tested in all its parts, including the automation ones.

The phases subsequent to those of delivery to the customer are the maintenance and assistance with installation on the destination site.

Supply of stacker reclaimer machine for coal

The activities we carried out were: the reworking of all drawings,3D and 2D models, prefabrication and machining, on-site assembly and commissioning.

Immediately after assembly, we also took care of the maintenance of these machines, which we still maintain today, having a maintenance multi-year contract with ENEL.

Manufacturing activities consisted in the preparation of the semi-finished products such as metal sheets and profile cutting, surface preparation, assembly and welding of the individual parts, mechanical machining of the connection surfaces of the components, NDT of welded joints, dimensional and geometric checks in accordance with project tolerances.

Subsequently, each component was painted as per painting cycle according to the customer’s specifications, and transported to the site.

The activities on site consisted in the assembly of the macro-components, the NDT control of the welded joints with the restoration of the paint.

Beside carrying out the assembly, we also directed the lifting phases and carried out the functioning tests with the complete machine.
